Casa Beloni is a unique quality stone cottage located in a perfect location offering serenity, great views at both sides of the Akrotiri region overlooking Stavros legendary mountain and the beaches of the northwest side!
In this house, you will spend relaxing and memorable vacations for you and your children. The house is built on a plot of 1500 sq.m. on the edge of an olive grove and fruit trees. It consists of a large living room, kitchen and a loft, a bathroom, a master bedroom, and a hallway. It is able to accommodate 4 adults in two bedrooms and 2-3 children into extra beds in the living room if needed...
The living room
A beautifully designed large and spacious living room with lots of natural ambient light since it is surrounded by windows on all sides of the room, stone custom-made couches, a fully functional fireplace, wooden and stone floors with its own dining table just under the wooden attic. It has a very high wooden ceiling perfect for offering relaxing senses of openness, calmness, and absolute quality. Extra beds can be placed here on request if your group consists of more than four people. Air condition installed!
The Bedrooms
The master bedroom with its queen-sized bed is located right next to the front 25 sq.m. veranda and its large side window doors offer direct access to the view to the front part of the house. It is beautifully decorated with handmade embroideries and we offer for your stay fresh and clean linens. The Master bedroom is airconditioned
The second bedroom is located on the wood attic of the house in the living room. It’s a floor queen-sized bed for two people. From that position, you have a top view of the large and spacious living room, lots of natural light from the surrounding windows, and quiet restful sleep. A window offers unique views day and night at the beaches of Akrotiri and the rough -dry but at the same time green- unique Cretan landscape. You will be able to observe from the coziness of your bed, sheep, and goats playing at the trees and the night starry sky while you read a book at this cozy playful corner.
The Kitchen
Right next to the large living room there is an amazing kitchen with all brand new, clean appliances, perfect wooden surfaces, stone floors, and all the equipment you will need for preparing any meal you feel like. The view from the large window at the mountain of Stavros and the endless groves and fields will keep you relaxed and calm while you prepare your own delicacies! A veranda is there for you to enjoy your breakfasts and morning coffee with a great view to the backside of the house
The verandas
House is surrounded by large yards, gardens, and Mediterranean trees groves. There are two verandas. A 25 sq.m. at the front of the house and a smaller one next to the Kitchen, each one offering a different experience depending on the time of the day.
The back veranda which is located right next to the Kitchen offers a unique panoramic view of the legendary mountain of Stavros where the movie “Zorbas the Greek” was shot from the book of the great Nikos Kazantzakis. From there you can enjoy your breakfasts or morning coffees or at night stay mesmerized by the quietness of the location, the silence of which only breaks the summer sounds of the Cretan habitat.
The views of the rising full moon from behind the Stavros mountain will stay imprinted forever in your minds.
The same level of excitement but a totally unique and distinct experience is ‘reserved’ for your early mornings. The sunrises paint the whole landscape in purplish orange colors and the morning bird sounds will prepare you for perfect day trips to the surrounding world-famous beaches of the Akrotiri region, which are all located at some minutes of distance from our strategically positioned beautiful cottage!
The front 25 sq.m. veranda is surrounded by flowers and plants and a beautiful garden. On the top, there is a wooden pergola where thick climbing plants will give you great shades during the day and fragrances of the Cretan plants during the night. It has a large marble custom made table, beautiful views and it is a great spot for relaxation spending quality time after your long tiring day trips to the surrounding beaches of Akrotiri
Around the house, there are all kinds of flowers and trees and unique Cretan herbs and plants guaranteed to enrich your senses with beautiful fragrances day and night. There is also an outdoor seating area with a large wooden table and benches right next to the large barbecue and wood oven for your grilled meals at the side of the house right next to our olive groves!
Our home is located in one of the most sought-after areas of Chania. At the Akrotiri peninsula. We are at one of the most relaxing, quiet, and with great views areas of Chania, at Spiliokefala region, near Chorafakia.
Akrotiri is a place for nature lovers, with interesting walking and hiking paths through the unspoiled gorges with amazing diversity, natural beauty, and living traditions. With picturesque sandy beaches, all awarded with the Blue Flag, century-old monasteries, and churches, impressive caves with rich lithological and archaeological interest, historical monuments, Akrotiri attracts many visitors every year, who enjoy Cretan hospitality and nature at their best.
You will find some unique spots to enjoy the gift of the gods, our Sun and Sea. In the vicinity, there is the famous from the movie 'Zorba the Greek', Stavros beach and the mountain with its infamous cave. Also nearby there are the gorgeous beaches of Kalathas, Marathi, Loutraki, Machairida, Tersanas, Seitan Limania, and much more.
If you want to further explore the area, drive to reach the monastery of Agia Triada of Tzagarolon and continue to Gouverneto Monastery, where the road ends. Then you will have to walk downhill on a steep paved trail to the cave of the Virgin of Arkoudiotissa and the abandoned Katholiko.
Numerous caves can be found here, with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites sometimes with amazing shapes. Findings of archaeological and historical interest prove that the caves were used as a place of worship as well as a refuge from the invasions of pirates.
Just a couple of km away you will find the Tampakaria region which we suggest you visit. There you will find the historical district of Chalepa with the mansions of the 19th and 20th century, some amazing routes to follow parallel to the seashore, and some of the greatest taverns and cafes of the city. At the aristocratic district of Chalepa, you can find the palace of former Prince George and the house of Eleftherios Venizelos that today hosts the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos”, with his statue placed in the homonymous square, the French School (1860), the Russian church of Agia Magdalini and the church of Evangelistria.
The Venetian harbor of the old city of Chania with its scenic centuries-old lighthouse is located at just 10 km of distance from our home.
Other villages are : Sternes, Horafakia, Kounoupidiana, Mouzouras, Korakies, Argoylides, Aroni, Agios Nikolaos, Pazinos (or Paxinos), Anemomyloi, Marathi, Kathiana, Kalathas, Kampani, Stavros, Kalorouma, Hordaki, Rizosklopo, Agia Zoni and Profitis Ilias.
The road network is quite extensive and in good condition, reaching all the villages and beaches of Akrotiri. There is also a very frequent bus connection with Hania.
