2-bedroom apartment - @Bombarda269 in ❤ of Porto
Rated on: 14.10.2022 Length of stay: 15 days
Maria is an extremely helpful, accessible, and responsive landlord. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed, except for a washing machine, but there are two laundromats on the same block that are very easy to navigate.
The location is very quiet, yet walkable to just about any place you would want to go. There is an absolutely beautiful park out the front door to the left and about a 5-minute walk. Stunning views of Porto and lots of places to walk or relax, peacocks and roosters everywhere. Maria was also very helpful in recommending restaurants, etc.
This apartment is very suitable for two friends traveling together because we each had a nice room with great windows to a peaceful courtyard below and each room had a big desk next to the window.
I would recommend this apartment and Maria.
Neighborhood
The only reason I give the public transport in the neighborhood an 8 is because I don't know much about it, but I did not see any buses going through nearby. However, you can easily walk a few blocks to find buses. One thing to note: We wanted to take the tram that runs along the river to the beach (Foz do Douro) and waited at a scheduled stop in the city for a long time only to discover that the tram does NOT run in the city. If you want to take the tram, you must work your way down to the river level, which is quite a bit below and lots of steps down, and then you can find it all along the way. Well worth it, we loved that area and the beach was beautiful.
The neighborhood itself is active but not in a touristy was, however you can walk to the touristy areas within minutes. Not nearly as hilly as Lisbon.
Recommended places nearby
Piccolo Camafeu (seafood and Italian), Mendi (Indian - wonderful), and LM Art Cafe (near the apartment and a great place for breakfast or lunch, eggs benedict or bagels with lox and cream cheese, for anyone who wants a non-pastry, sugar breakfast. Lovely patio out back). We also saw the Immersion exhibit (Monet and Klimt) at the museum on the riverfront and it was really fun. Only about 40 minutes, 11 euros, and well worth it.

A charming apartment perfectly located, walking distance to all major site seeing locations. Smack in the center of the city, walking distance to metro and train stations. Surrounded by many nice restaurants, cafes, bakeries and supermarket. The view from the bedroom window is priceless.
