What is Rental Insurance - Powered by AXA and who can use it?

Who is Flatio's Rental Insurance for, and when can it be applied? See the basic information and a comparison with other platforms' coverages!

At Flatio, we want to offer the highest level of security and protection to the landlords who entrust us with their properties.

That is why we have partnered with AXA, a world-renowned French multinational insurance company, to offer our landlords a very competitive insurance plan called "Rental Insurance - Powered by AXA" which is a part of our StayProtection package.

Who can use Flatio's Rental Insurance?

We automatically apply this free Rental Insurance to all reservations that don't require a deposit (unless you disable the insurance option in your profile). This means that Rental Insurance can't be applied to reservations for which a deposit is required, because the deposit serves as a substitute coverage.

  • For listings outside Spain this means that if a landlord requires a deposit for stays of 180 days or longer, the Rental Insurance can apply to reservations up to 180 days. For stays longer than 180 days, the landlord is covered by the deposit itself, therefore the insurance can’t be applied.
  • For listings in Spain, where the deposit can be set for bookings of any length due to legal regulations in certain regions, this means that the Rental Insurance can be applied to a certain booking only if no deposit is required for it.

What does Rental Insurance cover?

Rental Insurance covers damage that occurs within the rented property. Please note that it is not a substitute for property insurance - you can see how different insurance plans work together in this article.

Our Rental Insurance provides coverage for various aspects. These include property damage, loss of future income, and damage caused to others. The insurance also covers assistance services such as pest control, repair of household appliances, or even IT assistance. Legal protection and a 24/7 online support is also included.
