Do you need to change anything on an already valid lease agreement? In this article, you can read how it can be managed!
Is it possible to change the data in an already valid lease agreement?
Yes, in exceptional cases, it's possible to change the data even in a valid lease agreement.
The most common changes in the lease agreement requested by our tenants are the following:
Change of your move-in date
If you and your landlord agree on an earlier or later date of your move-in, you should reach out to our support team who can edit the start date directly within a valid lease agreement. Please note the following:
- Since any change must be approved by both contractual sides (i.e., you and your landlord), you'll need to provide us with proof of your landlord's approval (for example, a screenshot of your conversation in which the landlord agreed to the changes).
- Based on this proof, the existing signature on the current lease agreement will be removed and the start date of the lease agreement will be changed. After this, you'll be asked to sign the lease agreement again with an authorization code, just like you signed it before. Once you re-sign the lease, the change will become valid.
Change of your move-out date
Changing your move-out date is very easy! If you need to move out:
- EARLIER than originally agreed, you or your landlord can create the appropriate termination. You can read all the details about each termination type and their specifics in this article.
- LATER than originally agreed, please contact your landlord. If they agree with the change, they can easily create an extension of your lease agreement that will appear as an amendment to your lease. Once it's created, you'll only need to sign using an authorization code so it becomes officially valid.
Adding other people to the lease agreement
Although it's not possible to have more people in the lease agreement itself, any additional tenants and their personal information can be mentioned in an amendment, which is an official part of the lease accepted even by visa offices.
Therefore, if you need other tenants to be officially stated in the lease, please contact your landlord who can create the amendment from their Flatio profile. To see what information you need to provide them with and how it all works, visit this article.
Note: If you'd like to change anything else on the lease and you're unsure how to proceed, please contact our support team and we'll guide you through the next steps. |
