Flatio offers a 100% discount on the service fee, so those who book a property on our platform only have to pay the rent.
From Hollywood to tech to fashion to sports, many industries have rallied behind Ukraine in the face of Russian military attacks. And now the travel sector is also starting to take action to support Ukrainians.
As part of the travel community, Flatio condemns the war and stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, especially given the critical role rental platforms can play in supporting those displaced by the conflict. According to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, more than 1.5 million refugees have crossed from Ukraine into neighbouring countries since the Russian invasion began. He calls it "the fastest-growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II." In the run-up to Russia's attack, nearby European countries, including Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Romania, signalled they were bracing for millions of refugees from Ukraine.
A Czech company born in a part of the world that experienced an invasion by the Soviet Union in 1968, Flatio is committed to helping people fleeing violence with a special offer. We offer a 100% discount on the service fee, so those who choose to stay in properties affiliated with Flatio only have to pay the rent. To get the discount, all they have to do is make a booking request and contact our help desk.
Flatio is receiving a large number of booking requests from Ukrainian nationals. Many come from younger people who live in a country other than Ukraine and want to help their families. From February 24 to March 3, Ukrainians represented the largest segment of active tenants on Flatio. Bookings are primarily for families and have a duration of one month. The main destinations are the Czech Republic and Poland.
"We're a family from Ukraine, and we're looking for an apartment until our country is safe again," reads the booking request from Anna, a 34-year-old user. Olha, 38, says she and her husband were forced to leave Ukraine and look for an apartment to wait out the war. Anatolii, a 28-year-old Ukrainian national, made a booking request for a couple and their child, stating that they're refugees and need accommodation for probably several months.
Flatio hopes its special offer can give Ukrainians some peace of mind during this challenging time and prays for the return of peace to their country. We'll continue to monitor the situation in Ukraine, and, as one of the largest rental platforms in Europe, we'll do everything in our power to help the people in need. Viva peace!
