Warsaw has a proud tradition of daring art, fun festivals, and tons of interesting events as well as celebrations. And while it can be a bit tamer during the winter, the spring and summer months liven it up again with new vigor. So here are the best things to do in Warsaw in June 2022.
June performances in Warsaw
Let’s start with music. On June 9th you can return to your youth and listen to My Chemical Romance and Gary Numan with Jayce Lewis on June 3rd both in Progresja. There are Kings of Convenience on June 10th in the Palladium, the classic rock daddies Guns n’ Roses on June 20th in PGE Narodowy, the Postmodern Jukebox in Klub Stodola on June 14th, and the French Eurovision star of 2022 Barbara Pravi on June 7th in the Palladium.
June 30th will also be full to the brim with events celebrating the town darling Fryderyk Chopin. You can go listen to the best performers in the Chopin Museum, in the Stara Galeriia ZPAF, Muzeum Archidiecezji Warszwskiej, Sala Koncertowa Fryderyk, and the Chopin Salon.
There are also tons of festivals, big and small. The Orange Warsaw Festival celebrates rap and hip hop on June 3rd and 4th. And then there’s the Ephemera festival which is geared more towards performative and the multi-arts that will make your head spin with new ideas. It takes place between the 16th and 19th of June.
From theatre performance, we simply must include the screening of the promising Henry V on June 14th directed by Max Webster with Kit Harrington (most known for his Game of Thrones performance) in the leading role. Also, the highly regarded Performance Mechanics of Distance will perform on June 25th in Szkola. This dance performance was even in the top 20 of the Aerowaves Priority Selection in 2020.
June events in Warsaw
Firstly, if you love literature then the Big Book Festival 2022 will the perfect for you. Between June 24th and 26th, you can look forward to over forty events and over a hundred authors from Poland and abroad. This year’s theme of Good-Bye and Good Luck! reflects on the decade of experiments in literature as well as the current times.
From 5 pm to midnight on June 30th, you can experience the now reinstated Nocny Market. This paradise of gastronomy focuses primarily on street food both well known and new. You can expect well-stocked bars, music, and of course tons of delicious food all on the now-abandoned railway platform of the Warszawa Główna station under a neon glow.
You also shouldn’t miss out on some of the best exhibitions in town. The world-famous paintings by Chagall will be displayed in the National Museum until June 24th, the Instagram darling exhibition of Cosmos is held in the Cosmos Museum, and the Roman Stańczak: Flight exhibition displays a real aircraft but turned inside out. Warsaw has tons more to do and see but no list, however full of dates, is never going to exhaust it all.
