Best Summer Accommodation in Barcelona 2022

Summer in Barcelona is gorgeous. With stunning architecture, delicious food, sunny beaches and vibrant nightlife, who wouldn’t want to stay for a few months? But where is the best place to stay and when should you go? Keep reading and find out.

Best neighbourhoods in Barcelona

Before you pick your accommodation in Barcelona, you should know which places are the best. Let’s start with Eixample, the centrally located neighbourhood right next to Gracia. It has great boulevards that attract people from all over the world while the many side streets are home to local (and far less pricey) shops, bars, and restaurants. It’s a great place if you want to be in the centre of things.

Gracia, formerly its own village, is best known for its food. It has some of the best tapas restaurants in Barcelona and the great atmosphere of the whole neighbourhood pours out of every inch of it. Its maze-like streets are great for enjoying a bit of aimless wandering and its cafés are perfect for remote working or meeting friends.

The hip and cool neighbourhood in Barcelona is Poblenou. With tons of interesting art galleries and coffee shops, it is one of the places any millennial will fall in love with instantly. And since it’s not sought out by tourists, it keeps some of its authenticity and edge which the previous two neighbourhoods lack.

When to go to Barcelona?

With the COVID-19 restrictions easing all over Europe, it is likely that tourists will fill up Barcelona like never before, making the city difficult to enjoy. This is why you should arrive between May and June or in the month of September. The weather is great, already warm enough for a good day at the beach while the tourist season will not have begun in earnest just yet. If you search now, you should find decent accommodation for June that won’t burn a hole through your pocket, though make sure to have travel insurance—restrictions can return unpredictably.

Where to find accommodation in Barcelona in 2022?

If you want to stay in Barcelona for a few days, go ahead and try AirBnB, Booking, or hotels. You will be overpaying but they are as good an option as any since short-term rentals tend to be overpriced when looked at on a per-night basis. However, if you plan on staying in Barcelona for a few weeks or even months, then you have to check out Flatio. It has a wide selection of rooms and apartments for mid-term rent in all sizes and prices. Make sure to check out Flatio’s summer accommodation in Barcelona in 2022 and find the best deals out there.
