What do I have to do to move into a selected rental accommodation?

The article was updated on 17. 7. 2024.

All the basic information about the booking process on Flatio: See what needs to be done by each side for everything to become official!

It's quite simple! It all starts with you finding your ideal new home on flatio.com and making a booking request. (You can find our guide on how to submit a request in this article.) Please note that if you'd like to clarify some details before you proceed with the booking, you can always contact the landlord and request additional information about them or the living space.

Once you submit your booking request, it's immediately sent to the landlord who then has 24 hours to approve or reject it. The landlords always decide based on the information you've provided about yourself, so the more you share, the better!

If the landlord approves your request, the draft lease agreement is created and shown in your profile. Within 24 hours of approval, you must then complete the lease signing process, which includes:

  • Reading and signing the rental agreement (online with an authorization code),
  • Uploading a copy of your ID/passport, and
  • Paying the first rent along with the service fee.

To learn more about the lease signing process, please visit this page.

Once you finalize this process and the money is physically credited to the Flatio collection account, the lease agreement becomes valid with all rights and obligations. Since the lease is concluded directly between you and the landlord, any adjustments must be approved by the other party.

Even though you can communicate with the landlord during all prior stages via the messaging chat available in your My Housing account, when the lease becomes valid, we also show you the landlord's personal contact information for smoother communication about the property handover details. Then, nothing stands in the way of your moving in!
