Prices of SIM cards in Lisbon
The prices for SIM cards are pretty low, especially if you don’t want to buy a plan with it. A prepaid SIM card that you top up with credit can cost as little as €10 at any major company. But if you want to have a plan of some sort, say, one with unlimited mobile data, SMS, and calls, that can go up to €35 or even more. It all depends on the operator, of course, so make sure to compare their offers based on what you’re looking for.
Where to buy SIM cards in Baixa, Lisbon?
As the very heart of the city centre, Baixa has a few SIM card shops to offer. The MEO shop on Rua does Carmo 2 4.09, 1200-094, which is just a few streets over from the famous Elevator de Santa Justa. There is one more MEO shop at the western corner of the district in the Amoreiras Shopping Centre on Eng. Duarte Pacheco Avenue 1108, 1070-103.
Vodafone has two shops right in the heart of the district, both near the elevator mentioned above. One is also on Rua do Carmo 2, 1200-094, making it an excellent place for comparing prices between the two companies, and the other store is on Praça Dom Pedro 4 and 5, 1100-199. Both of these should serve well when you are in a hurry to top off your credit or need a new SIM card asap.
Lastly, NOS also has a branch on Rua do Carmo, making the street an unofficial telecommunications hub.
Where to buy SIM cards in Belém, Lisbon?
Belém is an affluent and historical district of Lisbon, but it has virtually no mobile operator shops. One at the very edge of its western border named Loja MEO Algés on Rua Gen. Humberto Delgado 23, 1499-004. It’s a bit out of the way on a side street, so it’s not the easiest to find, but it is just about the only option for Belém.
Where to buy SIM cards in Campo de Ourique, Lisbon?
As one of the quieter neighbourhoods, Campo de Ourique is one of Lisbon places with no phone operator shops. This, of course, adds to the overall relaxed and pleasant atmosphere of the district, but it is not exactly convenient. However, north of the community, just a few streets away, is the Amoreiras shopping centre with both an MEO and Vodafone shop. So if you’re around for some shopping or you need to buy new clothes for the season, why not stop by one of the phone operating shops to pick up a SIM card?
