If you live outside of Prague and need to get to the capital quickly but don't want to drive to the city center, you can use Park and Ride (P+R) parking lots, which are very efficient and inexpensive.
Location
These P+R parking lots are located near public transportation stops, usually near subway stations. They're open every day from 4 a.m. until the end of the metro's operating hours, which is 1 a.m.
The P+R initiative aims to encourage Prague residents to commute by public transport and improve traffic in the city center.
Currently, about two-thirds of Prague's population uses the public transport system, which is considered one of the best in Europe and connects different parts of Prague and the outskirts.

How safe are P+R facilities?
The Czech Republic in general and Prague in particular are very safe. Since many cars these days are equipped with the latest security features, it's unlikely that thieves will break into your car in a P+R parking lot, especially since it's locked at night.
However, you should make sure that you don't leave any valuable items visible in your car.
If you can't find a parking space in the P+R facilities, you can also park in the parking garages located around the city center. There are also parking zones in the city center where you can park your car.
