Greece's Digital Nomad Visa: The Requirements and How to Apply

Greece has joined a number of European countries in issuing a new “digital nomad”-style visa, The Independent reports.

The Greek Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) - issued under Law 4825/2021 - allows non-EU citizens to legally live and work in Greece for up to 12 months, with the possibility of a 12-month extension.

Eligibility restrictions do apply, including proof of employment and proof of monthly earnings of at least €3,500 after tax deductions.

An applicant's required minimum income increases by 20 percent if they bring their spouse (€4,200) and by 15 percent if they bring a child (€4,025).

The visa application costs €75 and interested applicants can apply for the DNV at the Greek consular authority in their country of main residence.

Greek authorities hope that the new DNV will motivate more people to visit and work in Greece, injecting fresh capital into the local economy while providing an opportunity for visitors to experience life in one of Europe’s most beautiful countries.

There are a number of tax incentives available to digital nomads living and working in Greece which can help reduce costs.

The message is clear. Greece is open for business, and the DNV could be your key to unlocking the wondrous beauty of this Mediterranean paradise.

So why wait? Start planning your Greek adventure today! There really has never been a better time to make your dream a reality.
