Prague is full to the brim with teeming nightlife that will make you dance well into the small hours. Bars, dark cafés, and most importantly, clubs abound, there will never be a moment while you have an apartment for rent in Prague and you can’t help but turn a corner without bumping into one of them.
So here’s our créme de la crème of Prague’s clubs.
Clubs in old town of Prague
One would think that every single club in a city centre must be a boring tourist trap but that’s not the case for Prague.
Take Chapeau Rogue, for example. Though unassuming from the outside, its inside is a different story. The ground floor has an Irish-themed bar, underneath which is a dance floor with DJs playing all night long, and underneath that is a space for live performances, visual art, and so much more that it won’t fit this page. It’s really a multi-level experience.
Next is Roxy which holds the quintessential club experience. If you love mood lighting, wide spaces and dancefloors, great drinks, and heart-pumping music, Roxy is the place to go. Whilst it’s a bit on the edge of the Old Town, it’s definitely worth the detour.
The next club is hard to miss as it’s located between the Old Town Square and the Charles Bridge in the basement of the Golden Tree hotel. Zlaty Strom has three floors, each with its own theme and its own music styles. This makes it the perfect place to go in a group of people with different clubbing taste.
A bit more mellow experience is found just around the corner from Zlaty Strom in Loca Bar & Lounge. Here you can, of course, dance the night away, but its more unique selling point is its bar with award-winning bartenders. There’s even an option of asking for a drink which will be specially tailored to your tastes. Together with its relaxing luxury hookahs, Loca has a more of a relaxed party atmosphere.
Best & Biggest clubs in Prague
But even outside of the Old Town there’s nearly unlimited deluge of places to go.
First is the Karlovy Lazne Club. It boasts five stories of perfect (if slightly touristy) DJs and dancefloors which makes it one of the largest clubs not just in Prague but in central Europe. Though it’s definitely on the pricy side, larger groups of friends might prefer its wide variety of musical styles and spaces to discover.
Second is the Lucerna Music Bar which would also fit into the largest clubs list in Prague. It’s a more of a rock venue with big names scheduled to play here. Together with its proximity to the Wenceslas Square, Lucerna is the perfect club to rock your socks off.
Third up is Déjàvu. Unlike its name though, you have definitely never experienced a place like this before. Though not the biggest nor the fanciest, it’s favoured by locals for its prices and clientele. This may come as a surprise considering the fact that it’s on the edge of Old Town, but the quality is no poorer for it.
Last, but not least, is the Epic Prague club. Here you will find probably the most modern and unique experience of the clubs mentioned so far. Though focused primarily on electronic music, one goes here mostly for the interior. Multi-floored, plastered with over 100 m2 of LED screens, a gallery for catching an amazing view of the dancefloor below, and so much more that will grab your mind and won’t let go till the morning.
