Alex Bieth is an SEO Freelancer at Berlino, an SEO Marketing Agency based in Berlin. He has been living in Berlin for 11 years. Although he loved it, after so many years, he wanted to escape the rough winters and decided to spend a month in Albufeira, a coastal city in the southern Algarve region of Portugal.
Before deciding to live in Portugal for a month, Alex has visited the country a few times in the last few years. He enjoyed this experience and is already planning to live for a few months in another country next year if he gets the opportunity.
In today’s post of our Interview Series with Tenants, Alex will talk about his time in Portugal and how Flatio helped him find a midterm rental.
Flatio: How was your experience trying to find a short-term/mid-term rental? What were the main challenges?
Alex: I did not find many sites offering quality mid/long-term rentals. The ones I found were either not trustworthy or way too expensive.
Flatio: Why did you choose Flatio?
Alex: I like the choice of flats and the process with flatio making it more secure for payment in particular.
Flatio: How was your experience using the platform during the booking process?
Alex: The experience was very straightforward, and it was a plus.
Flatio: How was your experience at the accommodation you have booked, and how was the interaction with the landlord?
Alex: The landlord was very friendly and supportive. He even tried to buy a bike for me, although I didn't even ask for one.
Flatio: What were the main benefits of renting through Flatio, in your opinion.

Flatio: How was your stay in Albufeira?
Alex: I enjoyed the location. It was quiet, clean, and very close to the beach. I had a dream jogging route I would take every day, never got bored of it as it is so beautiful. Given the lockdown, most restaurants were closed, but I did do some takeaway and also went to eat at the golf club nearby (the landlord had recommended it, and it was delicious and not expensive).
Flatio: Do you have any travel plans for the coming months? Would you consider using Flatio again in the future?
Alex: I would consider using Flatio again. I had a good experience using it. I am not sure when I will work abroad again, it depends on many factors, but if I get a chance to leave Berlin, I will try to live in another country sometime next year.
