Interview With Flatio Tenant, Roland Mondek: What Tenants Expect From Landlords and Why Spain Is Worth a Visit

28. november 2022 · 2 minute

Spain is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for digital nomads and workationers. It offers a unique combination of Mediterranean climate, stunning landscapes, vibrant cities, rich culture, and affordable living costs.

The country also has excellent infrastructure in terms of Internet connectivity, co-working spaces, and transportation links.

In addition to its already appealing lifestyle benefits, Spain plans to soon introduce a digital nomad visa that would give non-EU nationals the chance to live and work there for up to five years.

This will make Spain even more desirable for digital nomads who are looking for long-term opportunities or stability abroad.

At Flatio, we knew that Spain offers something that not many countries can: an ideal environment for skilled digital professionals looking to live, work, and travel abroad.

Whether you're looking for a short-term escape or a long-term change, Spain is the perfect choice.

That's why we recently expanded into the Spanish rental housing market to help this group of workers, especially digital nomads, find ideal accommodation that meets their specific needs.

And Flatio landlords have already accommodated tenants in Spain, like Roland Mondek and his girlfriend, who lived and worked in the Iberian Peninsula in late 2022 while enjoying its lifestyle advantages.

"We chose Spain because we both speak Spanish and like the country for its culture, weather, and everything else it has to offer, especially the region of Andalusia," Roland said in comments to Flatio.

He shared that they'd been looking for a flat for "quite a long time" before they contacted Flatio. "We were lucky that there was a flat available on the dates we wanted, and we immediately made a reservation request."

When asked about the qualities of a good landlord, Roland said, "It's good if the landlord is always in contact with the tenant and fixes problems when they occur. Our landlord in Spain was very helpful and tried to fix everything as quickly as possible."

He also pointed out that tenants should make sure that they fulfill their obligations as well. "A pleasant rental experience is when both the tenant and the landlord are satisfied with the rental."
